How do I access the Overdraft Feature?

To access the Overdraft Feature, follow these steps:

  1. Create an account on OurPass (Mobile/Web) and access the dashboard.
  2. Complete your registration & verification
  3. Your overdraft account will display a N10,000 credit, which is not accessible initially.
  4. A progress bar with a starting point of 0 will be visible.
  5. Complete your bar by carrying out different activities, then you can access the overdraft account and transfer funds to your main account for transactions.

Can I use the overdraft balance to complete a transaction when I have insufficient funds?

Yes, if you attempt a transaction with insufficient funds, you will receive a pop-up notification informing you of insufficient funds. You can choose to access your overdraft to complete the transaction by selecting "Yes." The remaining funds required for the transaction will be taken from your overdraft.

How often do I need to repay the overdraft?

The overdraft needs to be repaid every 30 days. If you do not repay it within this period, the system will initiate a debit from your account to recover the funds. It will continue to attempt recovery until successful.

What happens if I default on the overdraft repayment?

If you default (do not repay within the 30-day cycle), you will be flagged, and you will no longer have access to the overdraft. Removal of the flag requires internal approval.

How can I repay the overdraft?

You can repay the overdraft by simply transferring funds to the overdraft account. After repayment, the progress bar will reset to zero, and you will need to complete transactions again to reach 100% progress.

What is the maximum amount I can access as an overdraft?

The overdraft amount increases with each successful completion of the progress bar. It starts at N10,000 and increases by N10,000 increments, with the maximum amount being N100,000.

How does the progress bar work?

The progress bar advances as you perform specific revenue-generating actions within OurPass. Each action contributes to your progress. For example, paying the Business Verification Fee or completing transactions will move the progress bar.

What are the actions that contribute to the progress bar?

Actions that contribute to the progress bar include paying the Business Verification Fee, making interbank transfers (payouts), receiving POS inflows, receiving transfer inflows, requesting POS devices, and paying bills.

How is interest calculated on the overdraft?

The interest on the overdraft is a flat rate of 2% of the principal amount borrowed. This means that you will pay 2% of the principal amount borrowed, regardless of how long you keep the funds. If you default on repayment, the interest will be calculated based on the daily rate for the number of days overdue.

What notifications will I receive regarding the overdraft?

You will receive email notifications when you achieve 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% progress toward accessing the overdraft. You will also receive notifications when you access the overdraft, a week before the repayment due date, on the repayment due date, and after successful repayment. If you miss a repayment, you will be notified.
